How to use NewsCalc · assumptions and saved data
NewsCalc is free. Enter the page width and height in inches. Set the number of columns and the page count for each section. Enter the advertising height in each column. Columns have equal widths. Enter the weight of one paper in ounces. Enter the number of papers that make a stack one inch high.
Example: Use two 10 × 10 inch pages with two columns. Enter one 10-inch advertisement in one column. The advertising area is 50 square inches. The page area is 200 square inches. The result is 25%.
Each insert counts as advertising across its complete area. Tabloid advertising uses full, half, quarter, sixth, and eighth page advertisement counts. The issue percentage is total advertising area divided by total page area. Percentages round to the nearest whole number. Weight rounds to one decimal place. Thickness is one divided by papers per inch, rounded to three decimal places. Postal information is calculated information. It does not show postal approval.
Entries stay in this browser. They do not sync between devices. Entries saved on Cacti.News do not transfer here automatically. On a shared device, use Reset all data when you finish. Your inputs are not sent to the server.
NewsCalc comes from Cacti.News. See its publisher service.
